My Bandhavgarh Adventure: A Date with the Jungle King!
The gentle rumble of the jeep, the scent of damp earth and rustling leaves, the hushed anticipation in the air - that is Bandhavgarh for you, even before you have seen a tiger! As someone who loves a good adventure, a trip to this renowned tiger reserve in Madhya Pradesh had been on my bucket list for ages, and finally, it happened!
? The Tiger Sighting
At 6:30 AM, we entered the Tala zone - the most famous zone in Bandhavgarh. Our guide, a local with 15 years of experience, pointed out pug marks and alarm calls from langurs. Within 45 minutes, we saw her - a beautiful tigress named "Doti" walking with her three cubs.
? The Bandhavgarh Fort
Inside the national park is a 2,000-year-old fort. Though you cannot climb it, the view from the base is spectacular. The fort has carved statues of Lord Vishnu and ancient water tanks.
? Elephant Safari Experience
Besides jeeps, Bandhavgarh offers elephant safaris. Sitting on an elephant, you get a different perspective - you are higher and quieter.
? Other Wildlife Spotted
Sambar deer with massive antlers, spotted deer (chital) in hundreds, wild boars, Indian bison (gaur), peacocks displaying their feathers, kingfishers, eagles, and hornbills.
? Best Time to Visit
October to June. March-May is best for tiger sightings as animals come to water holes. Avoid monsoon (July-September).
Friends Travels offers a 4-night/5-day Bandhavgarh package including safaris, accommodation, and transfers from just ₹15,999 per person.
